Piggyback labels are often used in direct mail marketing as involvement pieces, for clinical specimen labeling, for pharmaceutical labeling, along with a variety of other uses.

Piggyback labels are made by combining two layers of self-adhesive labels, plus the release liner, with the middle-ply label layer serving as the carrier for the top ply. The label is then applied to the desired surface and the top layer can be removed and reapplied elsewhere at any time.
